Seminole Financial Services, LLC (“Seminole”) announced today the closing of a $4.1 million transaction to fund the construction and installation of a 1MW wind project in Tracy, California, with annual energy output of approximately 1,800,000kWh. This is the first on-site installation of utility-scale wind equipment at an industrial facility in the California Central Valley, and will supply up to 20% of the operation’s electricity. Concurrently, this project will remove the equivalent of 1,300 metric tons of CO2 from the environment annually, an impact equivalent to planting approximately 300 acres of trees. The system is already under construction and is planned to be operational in September 2010.
“This transaction represents Seminole Financial Services’ commitment to be a market leader in the Renewable Energy Finance sector for wind transactions as well as solar transactions 500kW and up,” stated Robert Banks, CEO and Chairman of the Seminole Companies. “We are in a unique position to deploy capital and have budgeted for $100 million of Renewable Energy finance transactions in 2010,” said Chris Diaz, Senior Vice President for Seminole Financial Services.
